Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage techniques and understand the specific needs and precautions involved at each stage of pregnancy. We use proper positioning, supportive pillows, and modified techniques to keep you safe and comfortable.
We typically position you on your side with supportive pillows, which is comfortable and safe for both you and baby. Depending on how far along you are, we may also use a specially designed pregnancy cushion that allows you to lie face down comfortably.
Pressure is adjusted based on your preferences and what's appropriate for your stage of pregnancy. We avoid certain areas and techniques during pregnancy, but there's still plenty we can do to help you feel better.
Prenatal massage is generally safe throughout pregnancy, though many women find it most helpful in the second and third trimesters when discomfort tends to increase. If you have any pregnancy complications or concerns, check with your healthcare provider first.
Many of our clients come in regularly throughout their pregnancy — it becomes part of their self-care routine. Others book when things get particularly uncomfortable. Both approaches work.
